Walt Disney Architect Purchases “Diana of the Chase” by Agne Skaringa

Creative Sparks Exhibition at Whites Art Gallery

I am thrilled to share a special highlight from the Creative Sparks art exhibition held at Whites Art Gallery, where I was awarded with First Place for my watercolor painting titled "Diana of the Chase."

Shortly after the award ceremony, an unexpected thing happened. Gordon Hoopes, one of the renowned Walt Disney architect known for his work in the design and development of EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth, stepped into the gallery with his wife.

As soon as he laid eyes on Agne’s painting, he declared—not once, but three times—

“I want to buy it, I want to buy it, I want to buy it! How can I buy it?”

It was a moment of joy for everyone in the room from Gordon Hoopes excitement. To have such a respected figure in the world of architecture and design so deeply moved by the piece was an honor in itself.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Gordon and his wife following the purchase. As someone with a background in architecture myself, our conversation flowed naturally—we connected not only through our appreciation for artistic expression, but also through the shared language of design and structure.
